- Enter Our Gameverse: Ecosystem Brings Gaming dApps Onboard
At Neon EVM, fostering a thriving ecosystem means embracing diversity and innovation across all fronts. This April, we are thrilled to announce the arrival of gaming dApps, marking a significant milestone in our journey toward a multifaceted decentralized platform. Versus-X is the first gaming dApp deployment on Neon EVM mainnet from a seasoned team with 20-plus years in gaming, including Codemasters, Evolution Studios, and Rebellion Studios, and with iconic titles like Colin McRae Rally, LMA Football Manager and Sniper Elite. With some cool in-game Neon NFT assets, Neonauts may hone their skills by applying for Versus-X closed beta, learn more here. Additionally, Neon Stack, a production-ready stack designed to facilitate EVM compatibility for SVM blockchain networks, will be deployed on Eclipse in a breakthrough partnership. Micro3, a decentralized SocialFi platform, is live on Neon EVM Mainnet. Creators can now access communities to get automatically generated rewards from the NFTs they deploy with Micro3’s infrastructure. Subsquid, a full-stack blockchain data access solution, has integrated Neon EVM enhancing data indexing capabilities within the ecosystem. This now enables data querying, access, extraction, and data management for developers utilizing Subsquid's high-performance indexing infrastructure.

- Technical Insights: Audits, Composability and Debugs
Our dedicated development team has been hard at work optimizing Neon EVM infrastructure and enhancing performance to meet the increasing demands of the fast-growing ecosystem. Happy to announce that the Neodyme security audit mentioned in the previous newsletter is now completed, and all auditor comments have been addressed. The team has also achieved the completion of the composability feature, which has undergone rigorous testing and integration into Neon EVM codebase. This feature is well-based to enhance interoperability and expand the possibilities for developers within our ecosystem. Our tech team is actively investigating the implications of EIP1559 for the ecosystem. This Ethereum Improvement Proposal has the potential to impact transaction fees and user experience on Neon EVM, and we are committed to understanding its implications and adapting the platform accordingly.

- Strengthening Systems: Optimizations, Testing and Delivering
As mentioned in our last newsletter, we recently transitioned from pessimistic to optimistic transaction execution. This involved updating the Neon EVM program and supporting optimistic locking while enhancing the efficiency of iterative transactions in both the program and the Neon Proxy. On the Neon EVM program side, the optimization required more efficient use of compute units (CUs) in iterative transactions and better allocation of available CUs for each iteration, which was implemented. Alongside, Neon Proxy was updated and we now utilize multiple persistent processes that efficiently manage the transaction queue and asynchronously handle responses from Solana. Preliminary testing shows promising results, including faster transaction indexing and improved user experience (passed OpenZeppelin tests, passed tests based on leading dApps, and an overall increase in the speed of internal transaction indexing). Other key tasks for Neon Proxy are in development, including restoring the functionality of several RPC API methods and Neon-specific methods, improving garbage collection to remove unnecessary data structures, reinstating Prometheus metrics collection, and conducting further comprehensive end-to-end stress testing.

- Rain-Check Adventures: Solana HackerHouse and Token2049
With rain and a sudden expected downpour flooding the streets of Dubai during Solana HackerHouse, Neon EVM team found themselves in the midst of it. While the unexpected deluge disrupted many events, we are immensely grateful that all remained safe, with no major damages or setbacks. However, once things settled in, our team seamlessly transitioned to the bustling atmosphere of Token2049, where we seized the opportunity to network with industry stalwarts and the vibrant web3 community, forging new relationships and sparking meaningful discussions. This month we also sponsored the online ETHGlobal hackathon and received 21 entries for use-cases on Neon EVM. The winners presented interesting projects from Proof-of-Testimonial for digital endorsements to tracking, tracing and recording vehicle invoicing and an interesting depiction of Neon EVM Transfer SDK for integrating NEON token to Solana Pay. As we continue to connect with the broader ecosystem and drive meaningful discussions, we remain committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation and fostering collaboration within the blockchain community.

- Media Spotlight and Mentions: Neon EVM Shines Bright
Our Chief Commercial Officer, Davide Menegaldo, answered all things about Neon EVM in an insightful interview with CryptoSlate. He emphasized the commitment to shaping the blockchain technological and infrastructural landscape while easing the developer journey, and discussed how Neon EVM is poised to revolutionize this while fostering the dApp ecosystem and fueling growth across web3 industry verticals.
